Night time photography

I have for a very long time wanted to do some night photography. During Guy Fawkes last year I was ill so couldn't do anything but this year I made sure I was able to go see the fireworks. On the Bluff they have a carnival type event at Guy Fawkes time. I went and tried to take some photos of the rides while waiting for the fireworks to start.

Then 2 nights ago we had a huge storm lightning and all. First time it was not pouring with rain just drizzling. Nic was with me and we decided to go to the petrol garage and look over Resivour Hills and do some lightning photos.

Big thing when taking both these kind of photos is the waiting and taking lots of photos hoping something would happen while the photo was being taken. Most photos had a 2 sec shutter speed so they definitely needed a tripod. I loved this experience.
